Amelia Bomber Jacket a Wardrobe by Me Pattern

It is going to be 100 degrees F here today and will feel like 110*F (38C feeling like 43C), so it is a bit crazy to share a fully lined jacket, but Wardrobe by Me (affiliate link) was re-testing the Amelia Bomber Jacket (affiliate link) with a couple small construction changes, so I made a pretty floral jacket I will probably use for the first time in October for one weekend.  It will be the perfect weight for a Winter Coat here in San Antonio, TX.  For once I'm actually sewing ahead of a season.  The weather has take it's toll on my back yard
I have eyed Amelia forever and wondered if it would be cute on my figure or if I would ever sew a fully lined jacket, so I was really happy to help with re-testing the pattern (full disclosure I got the pattern for free in exchange for sewing this one).  After having made it I'm really happy with my new jacket.

One tip if you normally blend sizes be very careful because the way it is nested you will lose length if you blend out for your hips.  If you are close to the same size bust and hips just stick with your bust size to avoid any issues.  I blended from an 8 to a 12 for my hips and ended up accidentally removing length at the hem.  I realized what I had done and adjusted the front facing as well.
Inspiration option, which if I am not brave enough to make for myself I will totally make for my 6 year old sequin loving daughter. (from Nordstroms).
I have given up fabric shopping for two months (joined @heatherandthepugs fabric fast on instagram), so I had to pick fabric for the jacket from my stash.  I used a silky medium weight polyester blend from Joann's Fabrics that I originally bought to sew a Belle Skirt and then worried it was to heavy.  I also had a super stretchy rib knit in blue and some blue polyester lining all in my stash.  The only thing I had to buy was the zipper.  I bought a 24" separating zipper from Joann's and reduced the length by pulling out zipper teeth that are at the top of the jacket (you need the zipper stops to be even with the jacket and the collar intersection).  If you've never done it, I hadn't, it is an oddly satisfying task to clip off the metal teeth.
Interior pictures (sorry for the bad light I took them in the evening), but you can see it has a really nice finish.

Happy Sewing!
