Wardrobe by Me Mirri (Neckline Tutorial)

My TNT Pattern (Tried and True)

My favorite pattern is the Mirri by Wardrobe by Me (affiliate link).  I love the versatility of tops instead of dresses, so I use the blouse cutting line for the skirt.

This post is to help with assembling the neckline of the top, it is a bit complicated the first time you do it, because the front pieces wrap around to the back of the neck and attach to the back bodice.  I hope these videos and pictures are helpful.

Follow the pattern and pleat your front bodice, attach the right and left front to the skirt.  Then you will need to sew the back neckline together.  See the video below.

Pin center back of neckline right sides together.
Sew center back of neckline together (use a stretch stitch)
Line up the neckline from the front bodice piece with the shoulders and neckline on the back bodice piece.
Sew.  Carefully pivot at the shoulder corners.  (sorry this video is so shaky and slow I couldn't find my son's tripod that would have held my phone and let me sew with two hands)
What it looks like after sewn and inside out.
Turn under the neckline and create the front facings.
Pinned Neckline.  I fold under the seam allowance to get a clean finish inside.
Finished neckline.  I decided just to sew it on my sewing machine even though I had said I'd probably sew it by hand.  I am happy with how it sewed up with my sewing machine.

Add your shirt bands.

Wear your Mirri and get compliments everywhere you go.
